Baby is Born
When our son was born he weighed 1lb 9 oz, and was 13.5 inches long. He is very small but started breathing on his own after birth. He is currently in the NICU where he will remain for the foreseeable future. His APGAR scores were 7 at birth which we hear bodes well and he seems like he will be a fighter. NICU says it is far too early to make any predictions but he is being monitored closely and we were able to see him yesterday and will again today.
Nadia’s physical recovery has been smooth so far. We will be in the hospital today and tomorrow and then will either be returning home or do “board care” at the hospital so we can see our son more often. All the staff, doctors and nurses here have been exceptional and we are well taken care of. We so appreciate all the wonderful notes, flowers, messages, etc. from all of you. Everyone has been so kind. Today and tomorrow we are restricting visitors to just family but in the next few days that will be more flexible. We are hoping to spend most of our time with our son so we are not in the room much anyway.
Thank you, everyone, for all your kindness. They tell us that this will be a long road ahead and we continue to need your prayers and positive thoughts.
